Things I'd Like to Say 06: Ways that John Bel Edwards is full of shit.
- Education: Edwards claims that he’s for education, but not quality education as many believe. When you factor in his ties to teachers’ unions, support for a system that clearly doesn’t work, and wants to pour more money into said system and unions; he’s no champion of Louisiana by a long shot. (Just like the last Edwards who was in office.)
- Budgets: Edwards wants to balance the budget shortfall, but how will he do it? More taxes, which will not balance the budget at all and force people to move to Texas and Florida just to make a living. (Same goes for the last Edwards who was in office.) - Honesty and Transparency: John Bel Edwards says he’ll make government in Louisiana transparent, but refuses to disclose his spending and voting records. (Just like the last Edwards in office.) Furthermore, how can he, Lamar White, Jr, Robert Mann, and Walt Handelsman explain Obama’s meddling in Syria, Yemen, and Libya? (Especially the Benghazi incident.)
- Pro-Life: Seeing that he served during Desert Storm, he can’t be considered pro-life. Throw in policies that drown my generation, along with those that haven’t been born yet, into debt and throw people in jail for doing drugs, engaging in non-procreative intercourse, gambling outside of casinos, and working without occupational licenses. If that doesn’t remind you of the shit that the last Governor Edwards did, then you are one insensitive ass.
- Helping the Poor: Edwards says he’s for raising the minimum wage. However, that has actually worked against the poor and minorities by pricing them out of work. That, and his support for zoning laws, licensing laws, regulations on start-up businesses, backing of farm subsidies that raise food prices, tax increases, and Obamney-care. Again, just like the last Edwards who was in office.
- Healthcare: In addition to Obamney-care, Edwards supports expanding Medicare and Medicaid, which won’t rectify anything. Has it ever occurred to him and the last Edwards that socialized medicine has always been a disaster, no matter how many of its proponents say otherwise? Why? Law of supply and demand, something that this state’s liberal/progressive crowd doesn’t get, nor will ever get.
- Criminal Justice: Finally, Edwards says he’ll reform the justice system, but considering that he has the support of the Law-enforcement lobbies; the chances of him actually reducing the state’s prison population, ending mandatory minimum sentences, ending prison abuse, etc. are slim to none. May I also remind you that the last Governor Edwards’ policies are why this state has the highest prison population in the country? There you have it. Saying that Edwards is going to make Louisiana better is like saying Donald Trump is going to make America great again; untrue and self-deceiving. I expect his (and Trump’s) supporters to attack me for writing this, but free speech supersedes kissing ass and popular opinion.
