Things I'd like to say 03: Screwed-Grounds
Tom Fulp was the visionary behind Newgrounds.com, the site that lead to the creation of Tx Mafia, YouTube, Deviant Art, Band Camp, Kongregate, etc. However, he--along with the Newgrounds staff--are suffering from the same disorder that befell Microsoft with:
-Stripped-down, unappealing design
-Poor site maintenance
-Excessive focus on HD Video
-Excessive focus on Unity (3D)
-Excessive focus on shitty mobile devices and Television
-Getting rid of the file info on movies and games
-Extending the scouting system to movies, games, and audio.
-Widespread deletion of various submissions for various reasons.
-Over-reliance on crowdfunding/E-Begging
-Brainlessly pandering to its userbase
-Convoluted submission system
Apparently, he doesn't want people using his site anymore that aren't Harry Partridge, Matt Ackerman, Hans Van Harken, Mick Lauer, Toma-boner, the Tarboy/Popstar dipshits, and other overexposed celebs. Wait, I thought NG was supposed to be against celebrity worship. Apparently, Joey Blanchette, among all things, handwaved all that away. Seriously, he wasn't funny or talented at all. Neither were Nina Paley, Edd Gould, the Zirbes Brothers, James Farr, Tyler Gibb, Brooke Burgess, Alek Wasilewski, Notorious Milkshake, Poxpower, and a certain stale voice actress who somehow thinks she can write. Has it ever occured to you people that celebrity worship degrades the individual? It's fucking stupid, as well as the reason why NG's Assassin needs to be brought back. Speaking of being brought back, you retards think that crowdfunding/E-Begging is going to save your sorry, cowardly asses? Sneak peek: It won't. Why not stop pandering to the moronic masses and be your raw, crude, unapologetic selves? Oh, and here’s something I posted on my page last year, as well as promoted to other Flash users: http://www.gnu.org/software/gnash/
Yep, I’ve decided to give this GNU product a plug because it not only plays Flash movies/games/menus made between 1996-2007 with hardly any issues; it also has been ported to Android (which also happens to be a Linux distribution), Power PC, *BSD, Raspberry Pi, ARM-based chips, etc. If you happen to have .swf files made within that eleven year timespan, it should work with them. Think of it as something that Apple Computer doesn’t want you to know about.
