There once was a bitter sweet man and they called him Lemon Boy
He was growing in my garden and I pulled him out by his hair like a weed
But as weeds do he only waited to grow back again
So I figured one time I might as well leave him be
Lemon Boy and me started getting along a little better
I watched him plant his seeds and he'd mow the lawn in bad weather
It's actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter boy like him
So I got myself a citrus friend
Soon his bitter sweet started to rub off on me
You'd think smelling like lemon zest would be pretty neat (and it is)
But I found out my friends are more of the savory type
And they weren't too keen on compromising with a nice lemon pie
So Lemon Boy and me, we just gotta get along together
I'll help him plant his seeds and we'll mow the lawn in bad weather

Well sure enough soon things got symbiotic
I found myself with green all over my sleeves
And when we kissed for the first time, under cherry trees
He left a sour taste on my lips, but gave me a sweet, sweetheart.
So Lemon Boy and me, maybe we belong together
I'm not afraid to trim his leaves and tend the garden in bad weather
It's actually pretty nice being good to a bitter boy like him

But what if I run out of fertilizer?

What if Lemon Boy won't grow no longer ?
