A gap.
All she could think about was a gap.
Could she pinpoint it, that she couldn't.
A hole somewhere, somewhere that should be filled in.
A personal discord with herself grew. Why should she care about the gap?
She sat, knees to her chest in the corner of her cell.
She looks through the metal bars across the room. This isn't the gap.
She checks the hole behind her.
This hole had been carved out of desperation to escape.
It had not taken the girl much to dig out a finger-sized hole through the poorly maintained walls.
She stared through the hole, hoping the gaping feeling would end.
It did not. She stared at the dim lighting of the cell behind her- now completely abandoned.
She relaxes back against the wall, her legs on the ground.
The girl looks up at the bars again- the dim lighting shining through gently into her eyes.
She watches the shadows pass by the bars of her cell.
As usual, the girl calls out for help, but nobody comes.
The girl knew what this gap was.
Every day, she would try to ignore it.
Blow it off as some feeling, or excitement to escape.
But she knew fully well what it was.
The gap wasn't real.
This girl is here for a reason. She was not meant for this time.
This girl was not meant to exist at this time.
She did not belong in this current world.
The void had consumed her, locking her in a cell until her time came.
The time will not come, unless one accepts their prophecy.
The girl refused to believe the fact that she could continue her life another time.
She believed she could escape- that she was born at the right time.
But as days pass, the girl became less confident.
Eventually, the girl had disappeared from time itself.
Her cell was inhabited by another cellmate, who suffered the same fate.
One trapped in Limbo can only escape once they accept the truth.
This girl had accepted her fate. Her confidence and morale crushed.
The girl was the gap. She had no purpose or reason to exist at this given time.
She persisted for nothing. There was nothing. She was only a gap.
She dissolved in thin air, ceasing to ever exist in this world.

The girl had passed back to the heavens. She will now live in the right time.
Even God makes mistakes, right?
