I have decided to compare two mp3 audio files of differing quality to see whether or not there is any distinction on your typical audio setup — standard pre-amp, DAC, and headphones — so as to determine if it's a waste of space, no matter how much one has, to prefer downloading music of a greater bit rate.
I have muted the two at non-random intervals so as to eliminate any assumptions one's mind automatically makes. I personally heard no difference.
